On November 21 I hit day +100. I had my graduation OTU (outpatient transplant unit) clinic appointment and had my central line removed.
Praise GOD I can take a normal shower!!!!
I apologize for the delay in posting the update but that week was insanely busy with life. Grief, happiness, sadness and laughter, all just life.
We celebrated with close friends and family Annie’s 5th birthday, my graduation celebration and Thanksgiving.
I am no where near DONE but this part is over and we are on the other side. I had my first longterm survivorship clinic on 11/27. We are still making adjustments to meds to help my blood counts improve. I am getting a weekly CBC and “G shot” to stimulate my count’s growth.
I’m still on immunosuppressive drugs and the SCT wiped my immunity of childhood illnesses so I will have to be careful about large crowds until I can be re-vaccinated for typical things. That being said my doctor feels confident my body can handle seasonal viruses (colds and such) so I can rejoin the world, at least a little bit. Just in time to see Wicked multiple times in the movie theatre.
Important Upcoming dates
12/11– Appointment with GYN/ONC to discuss left ovary. Remember that problem?! It’s time to make a plan for it.
1/3– Next PET scan- Please pray the lymph node in my mesentery has cleared and everything else is normal.
1/28- Long term clinic visit and Bone Marrow Biopsy

Thank you for being a part of my healing journey,
Danielle
